The European Commission has unveiled its Work Programme for 2016 with a special focus on economic and social issues, the environment and immigration. The Work Programme includes 23 key initiatives through which the Commission will try to, among other things, boost jobs, growth and investment, increase social protection in the European Union and implement a more effective migration policy.
ESN’s CEO John Halloran travelled to Brisbane, Australia on 27-29 October to attend the New World Disability Conference and gave his expertise on personal budgets for people with disabilities in Europe. On 7th October, I was invited to speak at a PIPPI seminar organised with practitioners working on child protection across Italy. The objective of this seminar was to provide participants with examples of child protection assessment frameworks, which have been implemented elsewhere, with the aim to inform the Italian assessment framework that is being developed through PIPPI.
